Stax Diner is part of the Feed Your Soul family of eateries in London serving up high quality American food. Stax is quite a famous place, it’s been featured on Adam Richman’s Secret Eats television show. In fact, you can watch a clip below where Stax Diner’s very own managing and creative director Bae Vo shows Adam how to shake his booty for her creation, the duffin – that’s when a muffin and a doughnut make a baby.
By now you should know we aren’t all too interested in unholy pastries like cronuts, cruffins or duffins, rather, we ventured for the exciting prospect of tasting a wholesome, true American-style burger. We went for the simple Stax Cheeseburger with American mild cheddar and meat medium-cooked.
Overall, the burger was great, very fresh brioche bun, slightly toasted on the inside to give it a light crisp with lettuce at the base, fried caramelised onion, tomato and mayo atop delicious meat. The patty-to-bun ratio in this example is spot-on, there’s no need to double up. All ingredients are of a high quality and fresh, we were very impressed. The meat could have been a little juicer, but this was not a major setback by any means. Additionally, the mayo could have been spread more evenly under the covering bun. Construction was good, the burger holds well and does not crumble on the bite. Others can learn from the folks at Stax, we highly recommend it.
